What We're Doing: September

Piper:
Watching: Friday night movies. (usually with a pizza picnic. She loves it. We get a break. Win-win.)
Wearing: high water pants. She's so long now! Her 3T clothes still fit, but her ankles, wrists and belly stick out.
Working: on staying in bed. Bedtime is a super-struggle. She's pretty much out of her bed three times every night with random requests/stall tactics. Exhausting.
Playing: pretend. She loves to pretend she's Fin's school teacher, "feeding" her lunch and putting her down for a nap.
Eating: a lot! And asking for seconds.
Learning: so many things! She can count to 30 (though she calls it 20-10), write all of her letters, drawn people...she surprises me every day with something new she can do.
Singing: 10,000 reasons (which she calls "bless the lord, oh my soul"). We listen to Christian music in the car, and try to talk to her about what it means to worship. It's so sweet to have her recognize the songs and sing along.
Saying: "What are you talking about?" to me and Dustin. She's getting a lot more aware of when we're talking about her, and even asked us what we spelled when we try to keep things a secret from her.

Fin:
Reading: all my herself. She likes to hold the book, and turn the pages, and even recite the words if she knows them.
Wearing: her "I love my baby brother" shirt. That's in the rotation pretty much every time it's clean. Or every week. Or both.
Working: on saying please. It's a magic word, but what would really be magic is if she'd manage to say it on the first time.
Playing: puzzles, especially the one with the little doors that hide different pieces.
Eating: sloooooowly. I love that she eats so well, but it'd be great to speed her up just a tad.
Learning: to take turns. (Currently the constant fight is over whose turn it is to sit in the center seat in the van.)
Loving: taking care of her babies. Jelly, doggie and "girl".
Singing: Silly songs from school- "Jump, jump, Finny". and "Popcorn on a string".
Saying: "Hey, let me snuggle!" before burrowing under my arm.
